I was expecting it to rain in London, but so far, I've gotten sunshine.

Hey everyone!  My name is Pushpa and I'm a sophomore at Gallatin. I'm studying abroad in London and have been here for a little over a week now. I don't know what my concentration will be yet; I've changed my mind twice already. I'm hoping that by taking Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology and History of London (in addition to this and a required class for all London students), I'll come up with a plan. However, what I'm really hoping to gain from my 4 months here are new experiences and a sense of independence that I didn't completely find back in NYC.

Though I have traveled to a lot of different places, from India to London to Egypt, I have yet to live anywhere but New York until now. Living here as already been an experience. I already have stories and moments that are making my friends back in the States jealous. It's still a surreal feeling being here, waking up every morning to Pentonville Road and not to 5th Ave. I haven't gotten used to walking to class, passing King's Cross Station (yes, the one that's in Harry Potter) every day. And I am most certainly not used to nor fond of the fact that pubs, bars and even the Underground all close by about 2 am. Coming from the city that never sleeps, this is still hard to wrap my head around.

But as surreal as it still seems, I'm already in love with it: London, the people, the buildings, the experiences. I have also managed to break out of the NYU bubble and meet some really cool non-NYU students. They weren't actually British kids, but it's a start. The Brits come back to school in a couple of weeks so we'll see what happens then. The world is truly filled with possibilities and I guess it took a transatlantic flight, a week in London and a whole new group of friends to really show me that

Hope everyone else has gotten to their destination and is enjoying it for all its worth. I know I am!
