AD SHEET
The Hudson Valley Pilot offers advertisers a variety of ads, at various prices, so there's something to fit every advertiser's budget and needs.
Embedded within every ad is a link that takes the consumer straight to the advertiser’s website, giving a business or an organization a strategic opportunity to connect with those who will most appreciate their services.
Planning your ad
When you plan your ad, you can choose where the ad is located on the page, how big the ad is, what page or pages the ads appear on, and how much priority to give to the ad. Here are the options:
(1) Placement:There are three places on the page where an ad can be located:
- Banner Ads run across of the top of each page. There is one size for a banner ad, and these spaces are shared by up to five advertisers, with ads cycling every five seconds.
- Sidebar Ads run down the right sidebar of each page. These spaces are shared by up to three advertisers, with ads cycling every time the page is opened or re-freshed. There are four sizes to choose from.
- Footer Ads run along the bottom of the page. There are two sizes for a footer ad, and these spaces are shared by up to five advertisers, with ads cycling every five seconds.
(2) Size: The ads in the banner and at the bottom are fixed in size, but the sidebar ads can vary in size. The sidebar is two columns wide, and there are four sidebar ad sizes to choose from: two sizes for a one-column, and two sizes for a two-column.
| AD TYPE | AD SPECS | PRICE RANGES | |
|---|---|---|---|

Banner Ads |
960 px wide x 100px |

Sidebar Ads |

Footer Ads |
360 px wide x 125 px - 1X 720 px wide x 125 px - 2X |
[View Sample] | $xx-xx/mo |
(3) Pages: The Pilot is organized in terms of its main pages: News, Business, Education, Environment, Arts, Books, Movies, Performances, Music, Food, Rhinebeck, Rhinecliff, Red Hook, etc. Your ad goes on one or more of these pages. Most of the pages cost the same, as listed under "Remaining Pages." There are a few pages that have special prices because they get more frequent visits, as noted below.
(4) Priority: When a reader opens a page, the ad will not always appear—the ad is taking turns with other ads in that location. For banner and footer ads, the ads cycle through as in a slideshow, changing every five seconds. For sidebar ads, a new ad will appear in each location every time the page is opened or refreshed. However, you can give your ad a higher priority so that it appears more often, or even all the time (no cycling with other ads).

For multiple pages: The prices above are per page (News, Arts, etc.). There is a 10% discount on the price of a second page, 20% for a third page, and 30% for a fourth page.
Additional charges
For a higher priority (so your ad appears more frequently in the cycle), add 10%.

All ads should be ready to go. There is an additional charge for re-formatting ads and/or designing them; the cost depends on how much work is involved in preparing the ad.
Special ads can also be developed, incorporating slideshows and other features.
Payment
The Pilot bills advertisers and receives payment for ads through PayPal. Invoices from PayPal may be paid either by credit card (payer must join PayPal first) or by check mailed directly to the Hudson Valley Pilot. Payment must be received prior to ad posting.
Policies
All ads are subject to approval by Hudson Valley Pilot LLC, which reserves the right to refuse any advertisement.

All ads should be in jpg, gif, or png format. We are unable to accept rich media (Flash) ads.
