The National September 11 Memorial & Museum is looking for an Education/Communications intern to work with both the Museum Education and Public Affairs/Communications departments to help develop online materials and further educational outreach. New Yorkers for Parks (NY4P) is an independent watchdog for all the city’s parks, beaches and playgrounds. In the summer of 2009, interns will participate in a combination of fieldwork and office work. In the field, interns will conduct park inspections throughout the five boroughs for the Report Card on Parks project. While in the office, NY4P interns will spend time conducting research on park policies such as athletic field permitting, park vendors, and park usership. Interns must be well versed in Microsoft Office and web-based research. GIS experience helpful. Qualified candidates will either have completed or be working on a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies, community development, urban planning, public policy or a related field.
